Sean Aiken is making a stop in Summerland, BC on his tour throughout North America to help young people discover their passion.

Sean graduated from Capilano University in North Vancouver at the top of his class with a 4.0 GPA and was named Class Valedictorian, but didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. Instead of taking the first job that came along, he found a unique way to explore career options. He created the The One Week Job Project (www.oneweekjob.com), in which he worked 52 jobs in 52 weeks throughout North America in search of his passion.

How it worked: Anyone, anywhere, could offer Sean a job for one week. Any money he earned for the work was donated to the ONE / Make Poverty History campaign earning a total of $20,401.60.

On his inspirational quest, Sean tried everything: Bungee Instructor, Dairy Farmer, Advertising Executive, Baker, Stock Trader, Firefighter and more. Sean immersed himself in each job opportunity that he discovered and then moved on to the next opportunity.

On Thursday, January 27th at 6:30 p.m., Sean Aiken will share his inspiring story in an entertaining and interactive multimedia presentation and documentary screening at the Summerland Waterfront Resort. Sean will be sharing practical advice, anecdotes and guidance, drawing from his unique job-hunting experience to help students navigate the challenging transition from school into the working world. The Discover Your Passion Tour is being made possible by David Aplin Recruiting.  This stop on his tour is proudly being co-sponsored by the Glenfir School, Summerland Rotary Club, the Summerland Waterfront Resort, the Summerland Chamber of Economic Development and Tourism, DogLeg Marketing & Business Solutions and EZ Rock 98.5 FM.

Come and be inspired by Sean's incredible experience. Seats are free. However, space is limited, so please register by clicking the button below or by calling Tessa Sjoblom at 250.494.0004. There will be a question, answer and discussion period following the presentation as well as a book and DVD signing. Click here to view the event poster!
