Mrs. Fiona Kastalen: Director

Fiona was born in East Africa, where she lived for 11 years before immigrating to Canada with her family. She grew up in Montreal, and graduated from John Abbott College Nursing School. She specialized in Operating Room nursing at the Montreal General Hospital. She lived briefly in Calgary, before moving to the Okanagan with her late husband Nic, in 1982, and settling in Naramata. Fiona has had numerous jobs, including Medical Office Manager, Clothing Boutique owner, and Investment Advisor Assistant. She currently works as an O.R. nurse at Penticton Regional Hospital.

As founding board chair, Fiona has been deeply involved with the inception and establishment of the Glenfir School. She served as board chair for three years, then as board director for 2 years. Her son Alex, a founding student, attended Glenfir for 6 years and remembers well, the school's humble beginnings. He now attends SFU and is studying psychology. Fiona brings to the Glenfir Board experience in both the public and private school systems. She is passionate about and committed to the success of The Glenfir School.
