Ms. L. Stutterheim: B.Ed
G5 & G6 Homeroom, G4 to G11 Socials Studies, Grade 12 Civilizations

Larissa Stutterheim is thrilled to be joining The Glenfir's teaching team. She comes to us from Montreal where she received her B. Ed from McGill University and worked for the English Montreal School Board.

Before her time in Montreal, she lived in Edmonton, where she studied Psychology and Linguistics at the University of Alberta and worked in the Social Service sector. Ms. Stutterheim is a dynamic and creative teacher who loves to surprise her students with unexpected learning adventures in the classroom and is always searching for new ways to connect curriculum to real life. She takes her job as educator seriously, recognizing the role of both her classroom and The Glenfir School in helping students learn more about who they are and how they fit into this world. She aims, through the fostering of positive relationships and reflective thinking, to promote self-awareness, social responsibility and academic excellence.

When Ms. Stutterheim is not in the classroom, she can be found behind the pottery wheel, leaning over a table full of beads, or scurrying around the kitchen with a stained apron and flour on her nose. She also loves appreciating music and art in her community, visiting friends and family in far off places, and settling down with a really good book.
