Canadian Penny Debate

2008-04-02 20:16:54

Has the penny's luck run out?

Students in social studies 5 to 9 will debate the penny issue in school.

Students will research the issue and will identify both sides of the argument. Students will then take part in in-class parliamentary style debates.

We want to find out what should happen to the penny, and a debate is the best way to do it. We wouldn't want to just flip a coin!
